Era for a houndstooth cape?

The material feels like wool. I can't find much info on the label, except that a 1930s-40s hat marked with the same name was sold on etsy. I'm guessing 50s or 60s for this one?

When I saw the cape my first thought was "Where is the suit?" Could it be part of a three piece ensemble from the 40's early 50's? Small scale houndstooth checks were popular then, too.
There would have been no shoulder pads in the cape; it appears there are none in this one. Fabric, construction and the label may be your only clues.

This looks earlier than 60's to me. My first thought, like Marian's, was late 40's/early 50's . Those arrow designs were also popular around that time, and the shoulders seem very sharp and tailored, where many 60's capes will have rounded shoulders, at least in my experience and I LOVE capes.

That's adorable! And I'm in the late 40s/early 50s camp, too, and lean toward 50s. I had a late 40s' topper jacket in an almost identical houndstooth print, and I agree that the arrow design could certainly be from that era. It seems to me that 60s' capes weren't as short--even the shorter ones were longer, if I recall correctly. I also think that many houndstooth patterns were larger. I have several capes from the late 60s/early 70s in stock right now, and they have, as Amber says, more rounded shoulders, without a defined shoulder seam.
