Hello!
We just received this beautiful silk gown in a vintage lot, we were unsure of the year, we are guessing somewhere around the early 1800's. The entire dress is hand sewn, made in a silk with hook and eye closures. Lace at neckline and heavy lace detailing throughout bodice. The skirt has a longer train in the back. Any information or opinions on this garment would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Hmmm... to me it looks more like early 1900s, when higher waists were again in fashion, like in the early 1800s. I'm sure there will be others weighing in here who will know more exactly than me, but I'd give this something like 1909-12 IMHO.

Thanks everyone! We were just thrown by the high waistline and curved arms...it looked just like one on the VFG Timeline of the early 1800's!
But it makes sense it is from the early 1900's.

It will make someone a very special wedding dress!

Cheers!
