Era of this fur shrug/wrap/shawl/whatzit?

It’s possum I believe, not as plush as mink. It has pockets in the front and those extensions can be folded over and snapped closed to create mini muffs for each hand. (second photo) 50’s? 40's? (she asks hopefully)

Very nice. Looks similar in fur to the one I posted about yesterday, which appears to be squirrel. If you look at the Fur Resource on the main VFG page, it does not look like opposum at all.

Good call on the squirrel! (Sorry Marie) . I wonder why I was so sure it was opossum.

I found a wrap like one listed like it on eBay - 400018851250 - She's calling it vintage Russian squirrel (a take-off on Russian sable?) and she says hers is "dyed a sable color." ???

the built in muff is SO cool...

I'd guess 40s. I have a 40s marmot cape (easy to date 'cause of the boxy, padded shoulders) which has the same longer, curve-hemmed front section, and the same quasi-sleevelike shoulder treatments, which on mine are just a little longer and match the handwarming function of your roll-and-snap muff with elastic gathers at the bottom.

I think this is late 1950's by the shape and the sleeve length. What kind of poppers does it have and what is the lining like?
