Just a quick one, will be back to add a picture later. Just wondered if any one knew anything about the company? I have a really beautifully made dress with this label, and I've only managed to come up with a one line reference to a company of that name, who were advertising in a 1929 playbill from the Curran Theatre in San Francisco for sale on ebay.

Thanks :)

OK, back with picture(s)!

Fabulous dress, Harriet! Where do you find these gems? Label is new to me (what else is new - LOL).

That is one of the most spectacular dresses I have ever seen. It's stunning!

Sorry I'm not help with the label, but I just had to tell you how gorgeous it is.

This is just finishing on ebay uk, and if anyone's interested I'm 99% positive it should have a Peggy Hunt label.

Meant to say I had worked it all out a few weeks ago but was so busy I didn't get round to posting - Eleanor Rothschild would appear to be the gown shop, and the designer's label missing - but I mentioned my suspicions in the listing and it would appear I'm most likely correct from an email I received.. ebayer has the same Peggy Hunt dress in another colour, (and I saw a strapless version too months ago on ebay: which is why I twigged originally).

So mystery solved! Eleanor is a purveyor of gowns, not a designer!
