Esty.....???? again

At the risk of totally boring the lot of you with Etsy ????

I have had an id there a while and have just got a few days off and trying to list on ebay and etsy, to save time and trouble l'll probably list on both and hope noone buys the same item at the same second!!

l have added all the vfg team to my fave's and heart you too!! so please feel free to reciprocate..
however..
before l list properly...I think i have made one error at ekats already by making my id sazfab instead of sara's attic...but no matter it'll be sazfab's vintage!!

can l check what l'm supposed to bear in mind vis a vis the vfg team??

or is there a HOW TO for ETSY on athread soemwhere l have missed??
1. add to my faves
2. add vintage to the lisitng
3. add vfg to the lisitng
4. add vtg to the listing

is that it...what else am l to do???

and are we thinking about having an etsy trade forum or add it to the dying ebay one??

any other pointers??

there are two tags, one for materials and the other? or does vfg team member go in the lisitng itself?

and am l right l cannot use comma's and apostrophies? duh!!


freaky its time consuming but it all looks so good, your looks fab!!
 
Hi, vfg member team needs to be a tag. Also you have to choose vintage as the very first tag.

The only thing that shows up in search is what you put in your title and your tags, not in your description.

I don't think you can list the same item on two sites, Ang got warned about that, about linking her etsy store to her website and the items were for sale both places. etsy did not approve that, if I recall??

Sara, it's against Etsy rules to have things for sale in two places like that. What I would do would be to list on Etsy, then if you'd like to list on Ebay at a later date, simply put the Etsy listing into "EDIT" mode (inactive). Then, if it sells on ebay, you can delete the Etsy listing. Or if not, reactivate it. I like that option, and you would be in compliance that way.

As to tagging, and your other queries, there is a ton of info on The Storque, the in-house magazine, and in the forums. Also, under Help section, there is a whole guide to buying and selling, TOS, do's and don't's etc. I'll find that link.

Pity you didn't have the names match up, but oh well.

Seriously.

Now I get an email from etsy telling me if I have multiple accounts I have to disclose that publicly? What if I dont want my buyers to have access to my own shopping habits and want a buying ID totally separate?

I have 3 accounts all under different email addresses. Why does etsy care? I'm about to close my buying one and stop shopping with them if its going to be impossible to keep my shopping info private. Thats crap.

Yes regarding link..l believe you need to be a member to state that with the logo. But if you want to place a link to the vfg in general then anyone can link to anywhere really, though l always ask like a 'net etiquette' if you like...

another thing l meant to mention about etsy....is that l am dumbstruck about how many views my listed have had in the 2 days theyve been up there!!

So many ebay items didnt get this many views in 10 days and these etsy listings will be live for 4 months!
Bearing in mind etsy only has 150K members..if l'm correct against ebays zillion or so...

so much to ponder....it IS uplifting trying this new experience.....so overdue....l will keep posting comments IF anyone wants me to...

how about an Etsy TRADE forum???
 
Sara, that is excellent. The only fly in the ointment, is that due to Etsy search pulling by most recently listed (as opposed to relevance), you will soon be relegated to being far back in the pages, so that unless someone loves your item right at first and buys, the four months may matter very little in the end. Not to be discouraging or anything. People do indeed return and buy "hearted" items, after time has passed, so there is hope. Plus, your shop looks very beautiful.

Keep in mind, as well, that as an "Undiscovered Shop" you will be featured in the "Pounce" galleries from time to time, and that helps. It's a cool Etsy-style browsing feature. You will also be featured in Pounce, when you make sales, sometimes. It's not a given, and apparently there is some random aspect to it.
 
thanks for that joules...l guess it cant ALL be good news, but its certainly 'exciting' and giving me a'buzz' feeling out a new enterprise..its actually given me a focus to take at look and stand back at ebay and the attic itself...

overdue perhaps..

l'll be very interested to see what develops..on several levels here on etsy..

btw my LBD has had 97 in under 2 days..whats that about!!

Thanks for the compliment..about the jewellery.. l have a VOGUE book of OLD front covers and l just put the items on the pages and it seems to work well..

How is it for you..?
