Ethnic Embroidered Kaftan - Need Help with Identification

I did include a message with this post, but I don't see it here. Geez....newbies....right? Anyway, I have researched this extensively and can't find anything like it. Obviously handmade and hand embroidered. Where is it from? When? The fabric is linen I think, but much heavier than anything I've felt before. ANY Info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Mexican or Central American, would be my best guess. It has an honest, simple elegance.
