I have 2 dresses that I'm considering, I'd just like to check the dates.

The first dress says 1930s or 1940s and she thinks it was originally a gown and shortened.

The second says 1930s and has a good label, but I'm not sure if that's the label used in the 30s?

I would say the Emma Domb one is from the 1940s as the company was founded in 1939 and if I'm not mistaken, the bustle back was popular then as well.

That girl on the tag tells me 50's but perhaps 40's. I'm not the best expert. I'm sure someone else can tell you more better than I.

I agree the first appears to be a shortened 30s or 40s dress and the white trim looks like it was added later.
I also think the printed satin label on the pink dress looks more 50's but the dress style is 40s.
