Evening bag - 30s, 50s?

I'm having a bit of trouble dating this little evening bag . It's pretty small, made of black suede and gold-tone metal, the inside is black faille. No labels or markings anywhere. It looks a little art déco to me, so my first thought was 30s, but it also reminds me of the 50s vanity cases, that small, boxy shape... and now I'm confused! Maybe it is because it is in a way such a simple little bag that I'm confused!

I would love to hear your thoughts!

Laura - it's supposed to be a New Zealand souvenir kitchen towel, but way too cute for that - I've put it on my table like a mini table cloth. And I now get good daylight at my table for good photos!

Wow, yes, that does look very similar, especially the construction of the handle! Mine came from a flea market... mom actually bought this one, and I bought another one that was certainly 30s. But who knows where the dealer got them!

I got mine with the collection of a lovely lady, it included '20s to '50s and many of them had notes in there. It was a fabulous collection, one of the best I've had!
