Ever Hear of Candi Jones?

Howdy everyone.

I know she (or it) made a lot of cute dresses circa 1950s-1970s or early 80s, but cannot find a stitch of info and I am just curious about her. Does anyone know anything?

Oh drat....that's what I was expecting...a mystery...

Nope. It's more moddish. Not quite Gunne. But I seem to find all sort of peasanty things by her - and then a more 50s - ish dress or two. There is a Candy Jones on wikipedia that was a model years ago as well as other things, but her first name is spelled differently

So it wouldn't have been her unless someone liked her style and misspelled her name.

Other than that, I know nothing...
 
I've always loved the Candi Jones dresses that have come through my store. Tried to research the label once but I also came up with nothing.
Can we see your dress?
 
FWIW, there are quite a few California designer labels from that mid-late 60s period that I have also come up empty when researching. Probably small rtw boutique designers that had no marketing department but turned out good work.
 
This is a Candi Jones maxi I have in my Etsy store. Kind of a peasant wench look and very well made. The skirt is lined and I love the piping.

I couldn't find out anything about the line when I listed this, either. But I'm really drawn to those California designers.
