Well, the fabric looks like wool "from here," but you are in a far better position to judge that than we are--because you can feel and handle it in person. I wouldn't rely solely on an opinion from afar.... It could be a wool blend, too; if there's any place you can snip a bit of fabric off (although the seams and hems look fully finished off), you can do a burn test.
I wouldn't say there's a specific name for this style? I personally would call it one of the mod military-inspired styles of the late 60s or very early 70s. What does it look like to you?

From your photos it looks like a woven wool fabric to me.
The sleeves have zippers to close them up at the wrist, correct?

looks like 70s and polyseter to me but is it stretchy at all and is the fabric very smooth (polyester) or does is have small fibers(wool) and it may be hard to tell. I am not sure that they were doing poly blends this early but maybe.

ah yes i see thew wool appearance with more inspection, but I think it is a metal zipper too huh?
