Fabric Help Please with 60\'s Hand Embroidered Dress

i have this adorable mod 60's (?) dress that is hand-embroidered.

I'm thinking it might be a "kit dress".

Can anyone help me name the loose weave fabric ?

any other info, keywords, etc. would also be appreciated.

thanks !
Connie

The stem and the straight, tufted lines coming out from the flower are couched; the center of the flower and the two-tone leaves ares satin stitch; and the orange flower petals are cretan stitches.

That thing is so darn cute!

thanks !

It is so unique !

I used to do crewel embroidery when I was growing up. My mom taught me how to sew too.

So, the fabric is cotton ottoman ?

Ottoman has a rib in the crossgrain. Some pique's have ribs in length.

This looks more like a heavier yarn in the length.

My workshop begins this afternoon will be "away" much of the time until Mon. C

I can't help you with the fabric, but I found these two ads. The first is from 1965...

and this one is from 1966...

Sorry - I can read the text on the ads now so I know why you mentioned rayon. It may be rayon, just not rayon faille which has a different texture (if that makes sense).
