Fabric ID help on Victorian bodice jacket

Hi - can anyone ID this fabric?
The black fabric that runs through the woven sections has tiny loops.
It doesn't feel like wool to me - any help would be appreciated.

It could be silk. I have seen this before in Victorian jackets. Do you know how to do a fabric test? Try it. Also DO wait for other comments!

Hi Mary Jane - it is all one piece with a tightly fitted cotton lining underneath. The looped slubs throw me off, but I don't think it is linen. The salmon weave could be silk thread but the charcoal is more tightly woven. Sunny the inner seam allowance is stitched closed at edges but I could try to take a snip out for a burn test.
