Fabulous suit with asymmetric jacket

I recently bought this fabulous Natalie Green suit from Angela (Dorothea's Closet) - I found it while looking for a dress to wear to my cousin's wedding, and that asymmetric jacket just caught my eye and wouldn't leave me til I bought it .

I admit, I haven't seen anything like it before, but now... I found an asymmetrically opening jacket in Nicole's book, and best of all, Linn has posted an ad in her costume jewelery workshop, that shows a suit that is rather similar to mine!

Now, how cool is that?

I haven't got a photo of me wearing it yet, but I certainly will eventually. So far, it's been a bit too warm for it - that jacket is quite warm!

The Aywon suit ad in the Jewelry Workshop is from 1951. Your suit is probably from then as well. Your suit and the Aywon suits were influenced by Dior's Autumn 1950 Oblique which featured an assymetirical cut. (I am reading a book about 100 years of fashion advertising in Vogue and read about the '50's last night!)

Thanks, everybody! Yep, can't wait to wear it in full. Have worn the jacket only twice already - with slim black jeans. Looks cute too. It's very warm - just right for now, but the day after tomorrow I'm off to a warmer climate for three and a half weeks first :excited:.
