Fashion basics-where and what do you find the best?

I need to replace some wardrobe basics. I'm looking for the perfect white T-shirt, one that fits so well it can be worn as a blouse. This month's InStyle Magazine had a great feature on T-shirts. Right now I own J. Crew, Old Navy, Jones New York and Ann Taylor T-shirts. J. Crew has the softest, best washing T-shirts and I love that the T-shirts don't get stretched out in washing. I like Old Navy but the T-shirts don't last as long as J. Crew's. However, at roughly $5.00 a shirt, I am NOT complaining. What does everyone else wear?

Socks! I have the worst luck with socks of all kinds. I wear the socks once and the socks fall apart in washing. That's not a total exaggeration, either. What brand of socks does everyone like?

Camisole tanks-you are going to laugh but I stumbled across a brand called Eve in the lingerie section of a department store. The tops have a built-in bra and were on clearance for $3.00 each. I think retail is about $10 each. The tops were made for pajamas but these tops are so well made that I wear them as everyday fashion. I bought all of the colors available and now look for the brand when shopping. Otherwise, I have been disappointed in Ann Taylor's and Jones New York's camisole tops. The elastic on the straps falls apart too easily.

Underwear-again, I find underwear don't hold up to washing. I used to buy Victoria's Secret but the panties fell apart after the first few washings. I tried Old Navy and then the Gap -- those were better. I just bought a French sounding brand name at Costco. So far, these wash well and are pretty.

I'm still on the hunt for the perfect yoga pant and pantyhose if anyone has any suggestions. :)

Finally, has anyone tried McDonald's new blend of coffee? It's pretty good. It reminds me of Starbucks. Did anyone read the article about the difference between Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks coffee drinkers in the Wall Street Journal? Market researchers were so struck by the differences that each coffee camp has been dubbed a tribe. One of the national news channels did an unscientific poll having pedestrians blind taste test McDonald's new coffee, Dunkin' Donuts coffee and Starbucks coffee. It won't surprise you that the results were essentially equal. I guess people take their coffee seriously. :)

Time to drink my cup of McDonald's coffee and start doing my expense reports-

Lululemon for yogawear is the greatest line! They started here in Canada and are slowly opening more and more stores worldwide.

Pantyhose....eeekkkk! One great thing about not working in the corporate environment is not having to spend gazillions of dollars on hose. I love the stay-ups and wear those when I need to wear nylons.

I buy diabetic tube socks because they're so comfy. They don't bind at the calf, and the feet seem to be wider or looser. They also last forever - I've had the same ones for about four years now.

I've seen diabetic socks in deparment stores, I think, but I get mine from a local guy.
