Fashion is Spinach

I only skimmed quickly through this online book about fashion and it looks like light reading, but as the author worked as a sketcher in Parisian fashion houses in the late 1920s I think Fashion is Spinach might be a fun fashion read. Here is a summary of the author's fashion highlights...

Another enthusiastic vote for Elizabeth Hawes - what a superb book, and so evocative of the whole social experience of the industry at the time.
I think Lizzie may have pointed out recently on her blog that a rare outfit with a Hawes label was coming up for auction.

I also have 'It's Still Spinach' which is slightly less fun, as it is more manifesto than memoir.

(edit to say that I can't find Lizzie's post, so I might have got confused...)

I did post about it, but deleted the post after the auction ended. Karen Augusta had several Hawes items at her last auction. I believe they came from the Brooklyn Museum.

Fashion is Spinach is one of my favorite fashion-related books.
