Faux Fur Coat with Mink Collar

Hi All,

The pictured coat has a mink collar and the collar has these weird little pockets in it in the front. You can sort of see them in the picture, I posted a close up. Does anyone know what they are called and why they are there? Also, any idea on dates for this coat? Label is Brazotta sportswear... my guess is 60s.

I can add label pics if requested.

Merci,

ok just the coat is posted now if anyone can tell me what those little pockets might be called *smile*

I'm having difficulty seeing the pockets: can you describe where they are and how big they are? Close up pics would be great. I wonder if they are folds in the fur - if it's an actual pocket in the fur, they should be lined.

I agree that your coat is '60s, early '60s. I wonder if there's another button under the collar to do it all the way up, and if the hem has been shortened? I would expect it to be at least knee length but it could be that it's for a short lady and your model is tall.

I agree with Nicole on early, possibly up to early-mid 60s for this, but can't see the "pocket" or folds in the collar well enough. Can you post a larger photo of that area?

(I really like this coat--I passed one up about a year ago in a local shop, and I've been sorry I did! But I have "too many" coats!)

Sorry for the late reply, I have been out of town. They are sort of like folds but lined. I will try to get closer crops of them for you to see.

thanks
