Fibreglass

Hi there,

I am looking for some vintage curtains for my daughter's room, but I want to avoid fibreglass (for health reasons).

I don't know much about vintage material, but is there any way of telling if something contains fibreglass as a lot of materials I have come across have no label?.

From what I remember of these, it was easy to tell simply by touching them...you could actually feel the fibreglass and it made you itch from touching them. Hopefully some other members will have some other points to share about these.

I agree with Mary Jane's assessment - and in addition the material has a very shiny appearance - or rather a sheen. If you Google fiberglass images you will see what I mean!

Yes, as Linn said there was a definite sheen to it.

They are pliable but feel strange.
