Final thoughts on Project Runway, Season 5

I was really pleased with the way it ended. Considering how lack-luster the show has been all season, I thought Leanne and Korto really stepped up to the bar. Either one of them could have won and I'd have been pleased.

I posted some additional thoughts on my blog - how the perception that Kenley was somehow "vintage" was just a myth.

Kenly wears vintage, but her designs are only occasionally influenced by it. She did send out a very 50s inspired dress in the collection, but generally her work is more 80s influenced and idiosyncratic. And she has yet to discover the difference bewteen" inspired" and "derivative"

I don't respond to her color choices ( they look cheap to me) or those super tight dresses, although I was happy to see someone put out hems that were near the knee. She has a proportion problem in the at least 2 of the dresses ( the black tulle and the bridesmaid) look very short waisted.

There were an awful lot of too short dresses this season.

Korto's collection was very striking, good colors, different shapes. Except for the green dress that was just too short, it was beautiful.

Leanne's was lovely, a tightly focused vision beautifully executed.
