I'm in one of my bizarre period-drama moods (probably brought on by spending too much time in Haworth where my brain goes into Bronte / Gaskell overdrive), and have this need for fishnet gloves.
All the modern ones I can find are fingerless, gothic style, long or in weird colours. I'm just wanting some very simple black (or navy blue or dark brown at a push) fishnet gloves that come up to my wrists. The sort of thing I imagne that a lady would have worn in Victorian times while wandering around outside in a dark crinoline dress. ...but I could do with some advice on this too as I'm waaaaay out of my depth time wise here and I'm just wandering round with this bizrre idea in my head that I can't shake off. Remember I'm a 60s chick. ;-)
I have already raided the vintage clothing shop in Haworth itself which is usually fabulous for gloves, but apparently only 20th century style gloves. :( I might have to venture into the Antiques Centre in Halifax where there's a lady with an array of vintage accessories and victorian underwear... and will prolly forget all about the gloves and emerge with several boxes of Rayne shoes and a desire to wear bathing costumes that would have looked better on Bardot ike I did last time, LOL!
