From http://www.royalmail.com - you can check for further updates.

The Communications Workers Union (CWU) has announced further strike action. Two 48-hour strikes are planned. The first will begin at lunchtime on Thursday 4th October and ends at lunchtime on Saturday 6th October. The second will begin in the early hours of Monday 8th October, ending in the early hours of Wednesday 10th October.

This will be followed by an unspecified programme of weekly strikes, starting week commencing October 15th, until the resolution of the dispute.

Well I just got back from the post office (which, incidentally is to be closed in 6 weeks - they closed the one that served me directly last year under the new 'initiative') and he let me post a special delivery, but wasn't sure if he would be able to accept anything tomorrow.

So it looks like it is from tomorrow to next wednesday, nearly a week of no post - with more planned! Plus there will be a huge backlog, ugh. Will definitely affect all mailings so even intl. sellers it may be worth letting people know that it could be a problem if you sell anything over the next few weeks.

Really is worth investigating fed-ex, tnt etc. and other independent courier services as it's just getting worse... :(

How very British to have it all scheduled out so you know when and for how long each strike will last.....
;-)
