Fortuny Fabric ID?

Can anyone help me id this fabric. I believe it is Fortuny. Thanks much.

Ummm....not sure I have never heard of a "fabric" actually being called "Fortuny".

Do you know what kind of a garment it was? Very pretty!

I see what you mean, stencilled velvet... unfortunately I don't know enough to recognise it as a particular design - hopefully someone will come along that might!

Fortuny does usually have the name printed on the selvedge edge, so perhaps he/the company did produce their own fabric?

Without the name and the characteristic style in a gown form, though, you really couldn't list it as a for sure Fortuny item, but it most certainly is of that era and that metallic style he used.

I'd think it just a general, yet chic, 20s fabric.

It is not stamped that I can see but this is a small piece of fabric so it is very possible I just have a section that is not stamped.

Looks like stenciled silk velvet to me. I would contact Fortuny and see if they recognize it.
