Fox or Rabbit fur? Vintage German jacket

Hello!
I got this jacket from an elderly woman who brought it over from Germany many years ago, probably decades. It's in great condition but I'm unsure what type of fur it is. My first inclination was fox because of the red and white color, and it's not super soft like what I'd expect rabbit to be.

The big HOWEVER is that the woman mentioned it was rabbit. She could be wrong, or I could be wrong.

The tag says Echter Pelz. When I google it, I get a lot of Echt Pelz, but not much about Echter Pelz, which means Real Fur in German.

Also some similar jackets on ebay that either don't say what type of fur it is or claim it's fox. I'm trying not to mislabel it.

And help would be greatly appreciated.

The longer hair at the collar appears to be fox. It's hard to tell with the shorter hair, and the texture, the size of the pelts, to indicate which animal that is. Both Fox and Rabbit are extremely soft. It is definitely at least two types of fur, possibly a third for the sleeves and upper back.

I was hoping it would be more obvious, but as I've discovered, there is a lot of fur imitating other fur out there. The fur pretty much all feels the same and looks the same despite it being a bit shorter or lying flatter in certain places. I think it might be the same fur throughout the coat. It is not as soft as the fox or mink that I have, but it is quite old and I think that might have something to do with it.
