Frank Olive black felt 'turban?' hat dating help

Hi there Guild-ees,
Not sure what to call this style of hat and wondering when to date it from....most of the label shots in the resource 'library' are from the '60s and haven't found anything to define it to it's era....and it looks 'so new'....

Hi,

That is such a classic hat. I would classify it as a toque style. While the style can be found in many decades, in my own experience I have only found the bright pink headsize ribbon in Frank Olive's hats of the 1970's. He used that pink ribbon as his signature for a while, but then later dropped it. It is possible he used it in the very late 1960's, say 1968-69, but I have not seen any of his hats from that time period with a pink ribbon.
