French size 42?

Just got a great pants/dress outfit with a label by Anastasia Greco Paris France, with a size 42 tag. I'm going to say the outfit looks to me like a size 8/10 ish max. Maybe smaller.

What does 42 mean in France compared to US sizes. Anyone got a handy dandy chart? I would say the outfit is probably c1980s at newest - it's 100% nylon and rather looks/feels like polyester.

I could be wrong, but I am under the impression 42 is US 12 equivalent. I think I have a chart somewhere and will go check and post here if I find.
