Fringe on shawl

Hi! I recently acquired a beautiful handmade vintage shawl. The fringe however, is fraying at the ends. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix it? I want to secure the ends so they don’t fray even more. Thanks so much in advance!

Have you done a fiber test to see what the fringe is made of? I don't want to advise without knowing a bit more, but you may be able to use a dab of hair conditioner, if it's silk. If you go any route, try to just test in one area, first, before committing to the whole piece.

I haven’t tested it yet but I’m assuming it’s rayon. It doesn’t feel like silk to me.
