Fur coat—is this sable?

Hi! I came across this beautiful fur coat and am trying to determine a). The kind of fur and b). The decade.

It is heavy and warm. It has pockets. The fur is dark brown/amber.

Your coat looks like it may be a Mouton fur coat. They were popular in the late 1950s-early 60s. They were heavy and thick and the fur came from a lamb pelt. I remember my Aunt had dark brown one that looked very much like yours! I believe they came in a number of color shades.
