Fur Coat Dilemma

Hello you lovely vintage lot!
I'm wondering if you can help me with a couple of fur coat questions...

My dad has passed on a beautiful real fur coat to me which was his Aunts.
I'm guessing the coat was made in the 1950's
My Great Aunt's brother-in-law (keep up!) was a Farrier - so I'm wondering if he made this fur coat for her. However, I also know she also enjoyed shopping in Harrods.

There is an initial on the inside right breast lining with 'ER' which I'm sure relates to her initials (not The Queen!) There are no other labels attached to the coat.

Please would you have a look at the photos attached and if you can, let me know;
- where do you think the coat could have been made?
- what the fur could be?
- how much do you think the coat could be worth if I sold it (as it doesn't suit me!)?
- and how I would go about selling it?

The coat has one fastening hook below the chest.
Waist-length
Wide arms that stay wide around the wrists
I remember my Great Aunt being small so I would hasten a guess it would fit ladies size 10

Hi Jules, it is a mink jacket. We cannot give prices here, the best thing is to look around on different online sites and see what people are asking, there will be a great deal of difference in prices. You need to decide what you would be comfortable to get for it.

You can list it on a site like etsy or ebay, there are many other selling sites. Or bring it to a vintage shop you may have locally and see if they are interested in purchasing it.

I can say that furs are definitely becoming harder to sell. Your jacket however has a nice style and I am sure someone would like it.

Yes definitely looks mink! I agree with above post,Ebay as well as poshmark are great listing places. Very pretty color coat!
