FUR ID on 30s/40s capelet?

This fur has me AND my furrier stumped! Any ideas? I believe the capelet is 30 or early 40s and the label is Marstons Furs San Diego. It is extremely thick and shaggy.
Is is possible this is bear?

Hi,

Not bear...looks like something in the weasel family, of which there are dozens of types of animals. Can you show a close up with the under hairs showing too? Beautiful fur.
