FUR Identification, squirrel, marmot, ermine?

I have checked the Fur Resource guide, but I still can't seem to figure this one out. I suppose because so many furs are dyed to look like sable, the colour doesn't help me! It's so so very soft!

Hi there, It's very hard for me to tell based on the photos shown however from what I can see it looks closest to Russian squirrel and it's dyed.

Well, the range of distance of the front and back photos in your opening post were a bit too far away for me to get a really good look at the fur itself and the lighting in your follow up photos was too dark.

I do really think it's Russian squirrel based on what I can see. I have to see better images though to confirm.

If you want to take a few more photos I am happy to look again. I need straight on shots like in your first post of the front and back, the full jacket/coat, just from a closer distance. The bottom looks like Russian squirrel to me however I have not been able to get a good enough look of the top so I need another photo, just the same as your full front photo but just the top half.

I don't need bright light but the lighting needs to be better than those shown in the follow up photos.

Then I should be able to better assist you.
