"hello, I am asking for your help once again. Are the following coats made of rabbit or fox fur? And how can we differentiate them? Please educate me about fur because I am a beginner and I don't know much about it."

I replied in your other thread but here’s what I shared there.
The white one has sparse little grey guard hairs throughout and is blue fox, which is said to have a blue hue when in the snow,
The other fox fur appears to have been dyed.
Both are very pretty and look like they date to the 80s.

The second one does not appear to be fox. Higher quality photos would help, but it looks like it may be skunk.
You're correct in your thought @hjlocke. You don't need to post higher resolution photos Lina. When looking more closely I can actually see the appearance of the texture better(along the bottom which shows the ends of the fur) of the second fur and the guard hair of that one is indeed more consistent with skunk fur. The color too. Hjlocke brought my eyes to that (which I'm glad he did; thank you hjlocke), and with that I am able to confirm that the second is indeed skunk fur. Skunk fur is sometimes multi colored but sometimes only the solid portion is used.

This may or may not be easy for you to feel but it may help. Each each individual monkey fur fiber is thicker than that of fox fur, but there are more fur fibers on fox though per square inch so both have density but in different ways. Individual fox guard hairs are thinner so the fur tends to blow easier and has a softer feel.

I can see the difference in density of the individual fur fibers when I look at the bottom of that second one and I can really make out that it is skunk fur.

Sorry to steer you wrong at first on that second one Lina, but I'm glad hjlocke saw something different so we could take another look. :)
