Galanos big roses dress

I bought this lovely dress from the original owner this weekend. After bringing it home and discovering tags in the side as I unzipped it to put it on my mannequin, I went back to the sale to find out how she came to have it. She bought it new at Neiman Marcus in Dallas. Her aunt worked there. Her mother bought it for her to wear to her wedding shower. The waist is 26" but the dress is quite heavy. The petticoat underneath is a heavy silk and the skirt and petticoat are both lined with silk chiffon. Even the eyes of the hook and eyes are thread covered in green thread. The skirt is wrinkled but I understand I can't steam silk chiffon. How is best to remove wrinkles without steam? Should I keep it hanging or acid free box? The colors are so bright and the dress is flawless I just want to make sure I keep it that way. The label matches up with 1954-1963. Any tips for a beginner for starting research are welcome!

Spectacular dress - as mentioned on the other thread, the lining is silk organza, not chiffon. You could gently press out, but as a lining you may find it doesn't need attention and the creases drop out. I also recommend dry cleaning as it probably hasn't been cleaned for a long time and the cleaner will decrease the petticoats for you.

I'm not as worried about the wrinkles in the lining as they aren't terrible but the silk overskirt is quite wrinkled and I didn't want to harm the lining in efforts to smooth the outer. If it's organza perhaps it will be more steam friendly?
