Galanos Amelia Gray of Beverly Hills dress. James Galanos.
Ok. so any help with this dress greatly appreciated.
In the labels of VFG this label is on a 1969 gown but my dress looks so modern.
Amelia Gray's boutique was where Jimmy Galanos first started dressing a young starlet Nancy Davis in the 1950s. She later married some guy named Ronald and eventually became First Lady of the United States --- and Jimmy was her favorite designer.
That dress is classic Galanos and those are classic late 60s into 70s lines.
I was wondering as it looks so much like what is in the mall currently but also I have found an ad for a halter dress from 1956 by Galanos so apparently he liked halters.
Tempted to keep it for my granddaughters but no way of knowing size or style in the future. I get so aggravated about that when I find some awesome vintage clothing.

Thank you Tabbyannabel.
A steamer should take care of the wrinkles for you, but use a light hand.
If you're saving it for your granddaughters, maybe have it cleaned and professionally boxed in acid free paper and box so it will be nicely preserved for the future.
Galanos loved his silk chiffon. Unless you are an expert steamer and have a good machine, I would leave that task to a professional. Steamer spit spots are a real bane to silk chiffon.
That particular dress isn't a halter. They're cutaway shoulders.
