I have a ski sweater with label of:
Geistex
Geist & Geist Inc. N.Y.
100% Pure Virgin Wool.
Is this the same company of Herman Geist?

Ok, does anyone know if this is 1950s possibly? It looks so 1940s to me but it has a nylon zipper. Thank you.
 
Sandy, it's gotta be 70s--'cuz it has the Woolmark label. I would have said that by the style anyway. It does have a throwback look to it, but 70s would have been my first guess . It is an absolutely adorable sweater--love it!
 
Now that you point that out it makes me remember some of the sweaters I used to wear. I think the belt was throwing me off. Had a 1940s vibe but the zipper was nylon. Thanks so much.
