Love it, Melody! I can soooo relate! I spend half my packing time thinking "should I bring THIS? No, maybe THIS?!!" Summer? Winter? Ackk! Trying to guess what buyers will want. I even read the fashion mags and run to the thrifts days before a show, looking for items that match the very current trends. Then I worry if I've packed too much, or not enough!
I think you work harder than I do, though! For one thing, I don't repair stuff before shows anymore. I miss my shop repair girl but I can't afford her these days and she lives too far away for any practical repair schedule to work out, so I either sell clothes "as found" (and priced accordingly) or put things in my sewing pile that I never seem to actually get to, LOL! For another thing, all that work with jewelry -- I stopped bringing jewelry to the shows. It takes me too dang long to price and arrange it, and I worry about theft, so I only bring garments now, I'm stashing all my jewelry for Etsy and Ruby Lane listings.
However, what does typically happen for me, is I bring the right amount (or too much) for Sturbridge, but then I have to have enough inventory priced lower for retail for 6 days of Brimfield immediately following - I then start running out of the right stock at Brimfield by Friday or Saturday. When will I ever learn?
