Getty photography exhibit

Yesterday, I went to the Getty with group on a bus--beats driving and parking--to see the Fashion Photography exhibit. It focuses on fashion photography in Vogue and HB so it didn't include the Seeberger brothers--early French photographers.
Each room focused on a decade and had a single garment borrowed from LACMA. The Chanel from the 20s was stunning. I think the Dior was made for a shorter woman. My photos are not very good--took the wrong camera.
The coat in the last photo from 1959, according to our guide was influenced by Balenciaga's sack dress. I think it is YSL; what do you think Sorry, this is a very fuzzy photo.

I think these are my worst ever photos. I need a new little camera. Good news here is the photo of Saul Leiter from the internet.

I agree about the Dior. It should be much closer to the floor.

Barbara, The Getty had bought 8 Schleppe manniquins ($18,000.) which they plan to give LACMA. Nice thank you.

Those are pricey mannis! Thankfully they won't be throwing them out as we have heard from members here of mannis that have simply been chucked rather than sold of given away to charity.
