Gilberg\'s Label. Anyone ever seen one of these?

Hello, I am a new vintage convert with alot to learn. I have googled for 2 days trying to find info about this dress/label. There are no other tags other than this one on it. It is made very well too. The color is alot lighter than the pics (more like the last pic) Any help would be appreciated. Another question...Do you like it?? :) THANKS!!

There used to be a fabric store in the Wheaton Shopping Center (MD). I think it may have been named Gilberg's.
It was there in the sixties. Claire

I think Gilberg's was a chain of fabric stores. Google archives shows a 1972 ad from St. Petersburg, and a 1951 article from Tallahassee.

Oops, you're right--Gilberg's was in Tallahassee when I was in college in the 50s. I don't think it was a chain. I think the store in MD had a diff. name.

It's possible the dress was made by a fashion design student at FSU, but I would think dressmaker or "home-made" not production. C

What a pretty dress! I wonder if it was used for display in the fabric store - otherwise, why would it have that label?

Also, by the time I was at FSU, the only fabric store in town was Joann's! I did a few semesters as a design student, and talk about a bummer. I would have loved having a locally owned place to shop for fabric and notions!
