Giorgio Sant\'Angelo help please

Hello Everyone,

I'm new here & to be honest, only sell the occasional vtg piece, usually out of my own closet. I've tried to do as much research as possible on vintage Girgio Sant'Angelo but most of what I can find being sold is the newer (uglier) licensed stuff that he didn't have anything to do with. Hope you ladies might be able to help me figure out if this is even a desirable set to sell? Even worth my time & trouble?

It's a vtg size 6, from the 80's, I purchased it new & only wore it once or twice so it's in excellent condition. Does anyone know what the words "Marjer - parts" on the label mean? I tried to google it & got nothing. Is there a name for the various weaves in the skirt? I know it's a handkerchief hem. Also, I can't find a material tag, is that normal? I don't remove tags, so I'm thinking it never had one?

Any input is appreciated, especially if I should even bother trying to sell such a tiny size & any pricing suggestions would be appreciated, as I'm really clueless & I've researched in Terapeak, ebay completeds, here & googled & still don't have much to go on.

Thank You in advance for any assistance!

Can't help you with the skirt style or the rest of your questions, but it should have a fabric content label and care instructions. Have you looked down the inside seams? If you turn it inside out it should be soon apparent if there are any there.

I would just go with "novelty weave" for the texture. If I had to describe it in more detail, it's a white-on-white woven textured plaid.
:clueless:

i love maggie's description of the weave of the skirt.

the skirt looks like cotton, and looking at the label shot, which i assume is the top, it looks like linen.

it's not unusual for high end pieces to not have a fiber content tag.

what does the waist of the skirt measure? i'm thinking an 80s size 6 probably isn't all that tiny. love the set.

You ladies are great! Thank you so much! Yes, the label is of the top, but the skirt has the same label in it at the waist. The skirt has no seam labels, the top has one that says 'dry clean'. Cat, your guess is the same as mine, linen for the top & either linen or a cotton linen blend on the skirt. That's what's in my memory too, but the 80's was a long time ago LOL.

Waist measurement is 28" & that's of the actual skirt, not the body that has to wear it. It's been so many years since I've been able to fit in something that small so it all seems tiny to me. Maybe it's not that tiny? According to a handy size chart a 28" waist is a size 10 which I find hard to believe.
