hi guys. I'm new to this board, and i'm just trying it out. Trying to take a break from the craziness over on the VCA.
Anyways, I have 3 questions. They are all in regards to a 1950's Bernhard Altmann Cashmere sweater with 2 removable collars, one fur.
I'm having trouble identifying the fur. I tried to do a little research first, but I'm not having much luck, as I've never handled any fur before. Fox maybe? I don't know. i'm way out of my league on this. Any thoughts based on the pic? The fur is kind of stiff on top and it's a little fuzzy and soft underneath I guess. hard to explain. It's kind of slick. (side question - how does one tell if fur is starting to dry out?)
Ok, the second question is in regards to the cashmere. There is a fair amount of pilling and one spot that i'd like to try to remove. I'd love to hear what people find is the best choice for cleaning cashmere, and also if anyone has any great ideas for cleaning up the pilling.
3rd question makes me feel silly, but I'm so scared about this that i'm just going to ask. Please be honest. My regular model is gone for 2 weeks, and I my sub isn't coming in until wed., so I decided to model it myself. Has anyone else done this? It has been the worst decision ever because I ended up hating all of the pics and feeling miserable! lol. I suppose that's normal. Anyways, I've never modeled my own stuff before (well, never modeled at all for that matter), and this shot is the only one I liked. One of my friends thinks it looks too sad, and she's right - it does look a little forlorn i suppose. I was hoping it was in a "where oh where has my prince charming gone" kind of way, but I'm a little delusional right now from staring at a computer all day? What do you guys think? Is it distracting or will it help? I tried to "vintage" it up a bit because I thought maybe that looked cooler. I don't know. It would just be used as a supplimentary pic with better close-ups etc. also.
Ok. that's alot I know. and I realize it's especially asking a lot since I've never been here before. I'm hoping this will be a fun, positive forum where I can participate and help out when I can. I promise to return the favor.
Cheers,
Mel
