Gold Shell Hand Bag - Dating Help Please

It's pretty aged inside, but still in usable condition. I'm not sure on the date though.....what do you think?

That's really a stumper for me!

Though gold minaudieres with long shoulderstraps show up as recently as 80s, this reminds me of a mother of pearl scallop shell one my MIL gave me that is definitely from the 50s (she bought it then!)

It has a gold braided cord strap (I can't tell if yours is chain or cord?) and the same suede-like tan fabric inside as yours.

The ribbon trim around the edges of the lining shows up in a lot of 60s purses...

Mid-century maybe, then?
 
these have been around since late 70s to mid 80s..some were made and holding makeup and mini bath products in uk...see lots of them in charity stores...

I will go with 70's unless anyone has any other info :)
 
All you need to fit in there is some lip gloss, $10.00 for a taxi ride home, a little bottle of coke with a spoon, cigarettes, and a coat check tag...
