Good things come to those who wait...

I am THRILLED that I finally sold this FUN NOVELTY 50's SCARF, which has been in my store for either one or two years. I actually can't remember!

This is a excellent example of why a store is good, where you can get a nice price for a unique item, if you don't mind waiting.

I listed this as a regular auction on eBay when it was first offered. it started at $9.95, I got about 12 hits, and, of course, no one bought it. So, in the store it went.

:bouncing:

Actually, I had two other surprise store sales last week, along with the couple (as in two items) of auctions I had up. Again, the store prices were DOUBLE what the first-run, no-go auction prices were.

I think between now & Memorial Day sales may be OK, as those who waited to file their taxes (as YOU well know) are getting their checks.

I mean the procrastinators who knew they would be getting a refund anyway, not the January Starting Gate refund filers who already spent their checks in March!

That's great Janine!
It's a great scarf, and deserves a good price.

I beginning to think more and more, that a
fixed price is the way to go unless it's something
incredibly unusual.

These days it seems, if you start at $10, there's
a good chance that's where you may end up at.

It is a great scarf Janine, and you are absolutely right. I am sure the buyer will be delighted with the purchase of such a unique item!!

You've been a convert to the BIN/fixed price format for some time now, Lynne, and you do very well with it, if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for the compliments, everyone! I actually showed this in the "Sneak Peek" forum here quite some time ago.

Maybe two years ago....

hi hipvintage....well done ....

at the moment i want to test the water with an ebay shop, ready for if or when i get a website up and running....

what my problem is ....how do you know what an item of clothing is worth ? i am a bit of a cheap skate..( tightwad)

so when someone pays a lot for one of my auctions i do feel a bit guilty....

I look upon it like this:-

The customer could do the same as you have done to find the item themselves, this would take them time and money (petrol money) and may find it but if they added up everything spent then they would have in the end paid even more for it.
so they are not just paying for the item but for your time and effort and other costs etc. So you should not feel guilty at all.

thanks paul.... you have got such a great head on your shoulders.....

i am terrible.. i am such a worry person.. plus i used to give loads of stuff away....lol....

i bet you mr/ms tescos or mr/ms walmart never felt guilty at their profits .....
