Gorgeoous formal dress - 30s or 40s??

Here i have a stunning, off white bias cut dress that I need a bit of help pinpointing the decade it's from. Although the shoulders have ruched detail, there aren't any pads. Metal Talon side zip, no tag.

Anyone know if it's more 30s or 40s? Great thanks

With that ruching at the bodice and the dropped waist in the front, I would say 40s. Let's see what others think.
