My sweet dh has just published his first book! It's a science fiction novel for pre-teens and young teens. Best for those interested in Science, especially astronomy and physics. It's called Sharkey and the Space Pirates and it's available at Amazon.

He's already finished a second book in what will be a series. (better than the first, imo. It's been a learning process!)

And, by the way, I did the cover.

Wow! How cool can you Bramletts get?

Lizzie, what do you mean you "did the cover"...are you an artist too? It looks really great!!

Only one left in stock! Hope they had a whole barrell of them to start with!

I love the cover, very appropriate for the age group.

How did he go about getting this new venture published? Has he always been a writer? What does it take to go from an idea on paper to a finished book available to the whole world?

Oh, and Bravo!

Thanks SO much, guys! I appreciate all the kind comments.

Tim has always been a bit of a writer. He published his own newspaper (for an imaginary town!) when in 3rd grade. One of his former teachers gave a copy to me as a wedding gift!

He self-published the book, meaning we paid to have it done, and we were pretty much responsible for the editing, cover, details. But, it is quite inexpensive, and the results pleased us!

As for the cover, yes, I did the artwork. It is a combination of watercolor and collage. We tried to find a "real" artist to do it, but picky Tim didn't like any of the work he saw. Interestingly, we live in an area that is known for its "artists" but none of them know how to draw a realistic scene!

I've always loved to draw and cut and paste, and I've played around with this kind of work. I'm a journal freek, and I illustrate them with my own brand of art. For the past year, I've been in a group with Tiffany and Pam and several other vintage sellers from VC&A in an altered book group.

Again thanks!

Oh, anyone who wants an autographed copy, he'll be glad to do it. You can paypal $15 (in US, let me know if you are not in the US and I'll check on postage) to [email protected] and be sure to include details.
