I have found a handmade velvet cheongsam with matching velvet jacket.

I just need help dating it. I know they were very popular in 40s and 1950s. But this has a plastic side zipper metal snaps. And that lapel is very unique. I cannot place the jacket at all. I would guess this is 60s.

I just need expert opinions! Thank you ❤️

Here is a photo of the collar snaps.
Maybe this could help too. I was thinking it could possibly be 1940s or 50s but the jacket was throwing me off. I couldn't find any reference photos to match its unique design. The dress itself isnt too short it will hit below the knee and yhe slits are not high

I also flipped the collar up just now and it has the strangest stitching. I am not familiar with what it takes to sew a velvet jacket... is this normal?

What it appears to be to me is, that it is a homemade piece that used a different pattern for the style of the jacket as an addition.
The dress appears to be 60s but the jacket design is 40s style.
Very pretty.

Thank you very much for the response. This was my first thought when stumbling upon the item. I also just thought it was so unique being green velvet. I am usually going by instinct and the small amount of imagery i have memorized in forties and fifties fashion. I am also shopping with a young toddler lol so i just grab n go. I love this forum and so happy to be able to use this site.
