Hi Everyone - Shoes are my absolute weak point. Can anyone help me date these? I'm thinking 50s and 60s on most of them but... BTW - the end caps are missing on the first black velvet pair so I'm going to lump those in with brown shoes w/ the roll on the toe since they are from the same estate and are the same size... 8.5

Thanks in advance!

Hi Amanda - Thank you for your compliments! Actually no, I don't use a light box. I use a white back drop and strobes (umbrellas and softboxes mostly) and a digital SLR. You see, I went to school for fashion photography (OSU & FIT) and now that I'm back in Ohio, and hating it, I use eBay not only to make money but as a way to keep practicing.

Our goal in 2 years is to move back to NYC so that my fiancee can run a boutique (mid-century furniture, homewares and vintage fashions) while I finally get to pursue my dream career as a fashion photographer. It just so happens that I love vintage, and mostly wear vintage and absolutely adore selling it as well!

But thanks for noticing my photos. I spend SO MUCH time on trying to make everything perfect it's nice to be noticed. :)

I gotta tell you, getting the tips replaced on heels isn't really all that expensive, if you can find a place that works with a cobbler. I found mine through my dry cleaner's, he has a display there and works from his home.

(hooray for another artist in the house!)

I was going to say the same thing about your photos - really beautiful. and I love your website! It's really cool - I even remember seeing some of your ebay auctions and thinking, wow, this person has really got it together! :)

hey thanks for the info and the nice words everyone! early 60s is about what i thought too on the stilettos but i wanted to be sure.

Janine - I haven't measured them yet (or maybe the fiancee did already) but once I get ready to list them, I'll post the measurements here. SHould be tonight. I wear an 8.5 and they are mostly 8.5's and 9's and all are too small for me. I know the width on the particularly pretty pairs is narrow... i think i recall them saying narrow inside. :(

The green crocodile pair DOES fit me perfectly though and they look about 100 times better on when all those "wrinkles" fill out. :)

One last thing, I'm really excited b/c we are launching a new look tonight, more for the clothing stuff (furniture will be the same template) but I'm excited to see how it goes over. eBay is so finicky. Sometimes you just need a lot of people to have you as their favorite seller OR you just need to get lucky with one item everyone wants. I'm hoping the new look will help boost sales!
