Guide for dating vintage clothing?

I know VFG has the guide: quick tips for dating vintage
But I would like to know if there is a good book or website or something with a more details and photos and specific age details in the model of clothing, like types of necklines, collars, bows, pockets..
I still post a lot of "need help dating this dress" threads, and would like to date more myself, so I don't have to stalk you guys all the time.

One book that I think is well written and informative on helping individuals date vintage clothing is Love Vintage: a passion for Collecting Fashion by Nicole Jenkins. Nicole writes for people with various levels of expertise and provides useful information as to what to look for or at to determine dating fashion. I am not sure if the book is still available but since she is a member here maybe she will assist you on where to get a copy of her fine book.

Thanks Maxine! Yes, I was thinking too, that "Love Vintage" is a good book for this need.

Ineke, the book is indeed sold out but you can see details here - some copies are available on the second hand market. There are also (as Luna points out) some other excellent VFG member books that might help. In particular, I love Melody Fortier's book "The Little Guide to Vintage Shopping. You can see it here on Amazon.

Thanks Ineke! I do have a new book out, but it's not so much of a guide to vintage as a way to dress, and make the most of your wardrobe. It does have a heavy historical component though. You can order "Style is Eternal" from the publisher (you can also get signed copies from me but sadly the postage is very expensive. The publisher can offer you a better deal.
