First, an appology for hideous images, didn't feel like dragging out Manly today.

This is red satin with ivory trim. I swear these buttons are celluloid if I've ever seen it, but I haven't snipped as they are all still on with original threads.
This label isn't in our rescources (yet).

Anyone have any idea on age? I've argued with myself enough, time to bring in others....but thinking pre pearl snap, and the celluloid surely dates it back to pre 50s as well.

I would love to have this cleaned, but would hate to take off all those buttons. I don't think they'd survive the chem bath of modern dry cleaning.

Think there are still any H bar C collectors out there for early non-embroidered stuff?

OH MY GOSH!!!! YES! this is a FABULOUS H bar C!! i'd say its probably 40's... very possibly even '30's!! wowsa!

i think the buttons sound awesome, too! i'd be a bit nervous about the dry-cleaning/button issue, too...for something like this a really good steaming would be good, and then you've maintained the originality aspects for those western clothing collectors...i've had great luck in the past w/rockabilly bands members clamouring for the great, older H Bar C's. YAY! good for you, Jenn!

also, i've never seen that third line before EVER either!
