Half Cape Help

My first guess was 60's but then I started thinking 70s.

I've thought myself silly and now I've gone and confused myself.

I think of this as a "Cape" or "Half Cape" but someone referred to it as an "Over Dress"?? What is an over dress??

Any help would be great!

I'll bet this went with a maxi dress in the same fabric (with a coordinating, probably acetate or nylon, lining). The dress was probably either halter style or at least sleeveless.

Yes, it's 70s and made to go with a matching maxi dress/gown.

My sister wore such an ensemble (in powder blue!) to my 1979 wedding, and here's a peach floral set with spaghetti strap gown that I sold recently:

Vicki, you could use any number of plain coloured maxi dresses to wear underneath your sheer over-top. Perhaps a simple style with spaghetti straps - brown, white, cream?? The more adventurous would perhaps team it with a pair of hot-pants. :scratchchin:
