Hand loomed late 70s poncho - ?\'s

Vintage ponchoes as a whole do not seem to do very well on eBay, but I have yet to come across one similar to this hand made artisanney one (not that I look all the time...). I may just hang on to it for a few more years, but if this were yours what price would you want to sell it for?

Thanks!

Yeah the poncho thing burnt itself out. Hold onto it because it is handloomed.... Might want to show it with a pin.... Also maybe show it as a wrap skirt. Thats what I like to do with something like it....

Aha! I thought so too Jonathan because my mom made wall hangings similar to this, but more intricate in the early 70s. My friend received this as a gift from a grateful student in 1978 - ???

No....Handloomed ponchos made their way into the 80's until now. Babysat for a weaver in the 80's. Artisan Crafters are always making them and sweaters.... But in the 80's there was a boom in handwoven items....Not abig national boom but groups of artists doing their thing and selling them. See those craft stores where they sell those country look/primitive things (all made in china) Well in the 80's artist would group together and sell their wares in small shops.... But they could not afford to stay afloat and they were taken over by the made in China dudes...
