Fell in deep love with this duo...
It is labeled Tula...
Cut very much like the 1940s... with a deep veed seam at the sides, bias cut, veed bust seam, slight ruching at the straps.. the jacket is VERY 1940s with ruching at the shoulders, a kind of flowing appeal to the jacket and a soft tie at the neck...
What I do not know how to market is the hand painting at the sleeves and at the single bust. I am not sure if it is a carnival or circus theme... the balloons and feather skirted ballerina kind of lady (whos hair looks 40s) the kind of clown jester with a black mask on... Where there certain years in the 40s that carnival or circus themes were popular? I had one 40s dress that was a harliquin print with masks and that was the late 1940s... also would the amount of fabric effect the date as the jacket is quite flowing?

Thank you so much from a person whose lingerie marketing has alot to be learned.

Michelle

"handpainted" as a KW is very effective for ties and circle skirts..might it be for lingerie too?

The black mask on the clown makes it look more masquerade ball/mardi gras/carnivale than "circus" to me as clowns would have had the white face paint by that point in time.

The lady does look like a ballerina but it looks more like feathers than a traditional tulle ballerina motif to me so that to me leans it a bit towards the above as well.

THanks you two... Tori, I kinda paid buckets of $$ for it but I just fell in love. Does anyone else do that? SIGH... Tried it on, just not for me so it has to be listed... good news for someone else!
Oh yes Chris Mardi Gras... I think that is perfect for it!
THe set looks like a good time! Feathers and balloons and masks and brightly colored outfits.. I CANNOT talk myself out of listing this!
Just happens to be in mint condition as well...

Lets hope your crystal ball is on target Tori! I would like to at least get back what I paid.

:)

Good luck Michelle. FOr some reason, i don't think you need it!

Hopefully it will also draw folks to look at everything else you have too!

Just to die for! I'm collecting & listing lots of lingerie, and I would kill for this!

I agree that Mardis Gras is what this looks like--a sexy, fun, rather hedonistic look to it! Just right for Champagne & more....
