Handbag Pros? Murray Kruger Issues...

Sad SAD thing, indeed, as I found one with the same travel theme on a designer bag site for some big bucks! This is actually pristine, never carried....inside is pale blue leather with the Murray Kruger mirror in its glassine envelope, coin purse minty....little paper warning that leather can "crock" still crisp. I imagine when it was moved from place to place in the woman's apartment the handles got cracked. Here's the question. Can a leather repair/shoe repair type place repair that? Seems to maybe be worth it for this type of bag (of course I'd have to check on cost). Also, does the bag have a name, and think 60s? Thanks! Next bag to come. Ang

This is another Kruger and it is HUGE. Eleven inches tall, bag ONLY, and sixteen wide. Its tough for me to find vintage bags that will hold my keys, cell phone, kid related necessities.....all the Mom crud one has to carry w/ a toddler, so long story short I'm keeping it!!! I love it, and already I get questions about it wherever I go (which is great PR for the shop). Anyway, the handles were folded against it so it has dents from that and a couple scuffs. I'm scared to ruin it. How can I clean it safely and what can be done to pull out the dent, anything? Thanks again! Ang

They can really repair the handle but can replace them. I had that done on one of my bags and it looks like the original.
The dent I dont think can be repaired...

Anyone know what the best thing to just clean up surface dust/smudges on white leather is? Ang

I haven't tried it myself Ang, but I've been told that Vim (or equivalent) works well on white leather.

well ang, l would try a little light astonish as it doesnt have an abrasive in it, l believe Vim does, or the old fashione dtype anyhow.
I would say that the handle couldnt be fixed, but replaced, its matching the colour that is difficult.

Haven't I read somewhere that a good purse-meister can use something like little suction cups to remove dents? Sort of like what they do in auto body shops.

Anyway that is a heck of a handbag!
